YeongDong is the place where Nangye. Park Yeon(Nangye is a pseudonymlwas born and the place is full of things related to Korean clssical music. Nangye, Park Yeon

Nangye, Park Yeon(1378-1458), a great musician as well as a scholar during the early Joseon Dynasty, was born in YeongDong on October 20, 1378.

He established the basis of Korean classical music and also created the measure of the twelve-tone system. He improved the instruments for A-ak (Korean classical court music) and Hyang-ak (Korean music). With these great achievements, he is admired as one of the greatest three Korean musicians including Wang Sanak(Gogury of the three kingdom period)and U-Reuk(silla of the three kingdom period).
